Ruminations on wargaming, especially the Seven Years War, the English Civil War and other 'black powder' periods. Occasional forays into obscure Nordic music and opinionated 'dribble' [sic] on Grimsby Town Football Club.

Just a Minuteman - or Balls to the British
Interesting little snippet of archaeology in the NY Times.
Very interesting Chris, so thanks for sharing. I often wonder what is lying beneath our feet awaiting to be detected. I'd not clocked that next year is the 250th anniversary of the Revolution, so I expect there will lots of games based around this at various shows and on Blogs etc.
I hadn’t clocked that before either Steve. I well remember the bicentennial for the Declaration of Independence in 1976. Think that was the occasion of the first official visit by a reigning British monarch. And of course it was during the Drought over here so memorable for not having to wear a tie to school 😎 Chris
I had the flu and was off for two weeks as was the norm in those days, returning to school to find out we were allowed to dispense with the ties and blazers. That Summer of '76 sticks in one's mind on so many levels!
