Can you see what I see?

Packing material from a drawing board ordered by the Margravina for her horticultural designs. Dimensions are about 45 x 65 cm.

For those of you not on my wavelength, my recent acquisitions from Leven (below) could be used with it.

Clockwise from top left: Mediterranean church, monastery, Roman HQ, various Mediterranean houses/taverna.

I’m going to have to brush up my drawing skills.

PS I didn’t get a chance to run my Italian WAS campaign on 1st but the coming weekend looks promising.

  1. Oooh I like them thar buildings. I’m guessing they’ll soon be sitting atop that packing material.

    1. They're nice little models aren't they JBM. I'm probably going to need a lot more. As for the packing material, it might be more accurate to say the buildings are going to sit inside it. I think I'm going to have to dig out Fire and Stone which has some useful guidelines.

  2. Chris,
"Can you see what I can?" - Potential? ☺
At least that's what I tell myself and my wife when another piece of polystyrene gets added to the associated pile of jun.....err potential useful material......

    1. It’ll probably be one of those things that seemed like a good idea at the time but turn out to be a mess 😄

    1. Lower your expectations! I’ll be attempting to do something I’ve not done before. I’m not confident enough in my draughtsmanship skills, nor in the material’s suitability.

    1. Potentially. But it might turn out to be a pile of ****
See my comment above to Alan.

  5. I have some of the houses I'm sure and very nice they are too. The others have piqued my interest for sure! I thought they would sit on the packing material to make a hill town of some sort or other, but it seems not...

    1. To be honest I hadn’t thought of that! I might have enough material left over for a suitable hill. I normally represent hills with DVD cases under a cloth.

  6. Sit inside? I'm puzzled and intrigued.

    1. See reply to JBM: referring to Fire & Stone. There’s a clue there. 😁

  7. Interesting - you're going to 'build a big wall, and it's gonna be beautiful', I assume? Sounds good! I think 'Fire and Stone' may even have some (very old-school) siege game rules?
Happy New Year, and good luck with the WAS game..

    1. It’s gonna be beautiful. So beautiful. And I’m gonna make the neighbours pay for it.
F&S does indeed have some old school siege rules in the back. With a sample game played with Airfix Washington’s Army.
      Hope you’re over the Covid.

  8. So, thanks to DfS above, I am thinking a Vauban style series of walls with demilunes, bastions and glacis galore?!

  9. I have a few of those levens buildings very good value, at least they were a few years ago when I picked them up

  10. Those Leven buildings look very tasty. I've tried various 6mm files on a 3D printer but found it a very frustrating process, ordering finished models seems like a better way to go.

    1. They paint up nicely too. I guess the advantage is if you have your own printer you avoid postal costs (and delays).
