Le Tour de 1813
Sat down for a rest and switched the telly on. Noticed that Stage Two of the Tour de France today covers some of Arthur Wellesley’s old stomping ground.
Not my sort of thing at all, but do occasionally catch the odd bit of a bike race, where to be honest the main interest is the scenery! Lots of lovely buildings and small villages that I can't but help view from a modelmaking/wargaming point of view:).
The scenery is a big part of the attraction. Good point about the modelling point of view! 😄 Watching it live on telly is a bit like watching cricket or horse racing. It’s mostly quiet and sometimes soporific, with occasional bouts of ‘oh I missed that, I must have dozed off’. Chris
Watching the TdF is a great July tradition.
ReplyDeleteIt is. A bit early in the day for you or do you watch the highlights?

I watch live. I am an early riser.
DeletePopping up to see it all at St Leonard de Noblat on the 9th (I think) it# only 20k away from my gaff.I’ll wave at the cameras!
ReplyDeleteExcellent! Wear your musketeer outfit to standout, so we’ll be sure to spot you.
