Came across this item in my news feed today. It’s an interesting blog for a geek like me based in the metropolis

One strand I often get pinged about are Ian’s visits to London alleys!
Interesting stuff Chris. Near to us they are restoring a Wesleyan chapel that has lain derelict for donkey's years, even though it was just set back from a busy high street. Once finished it should make for an interesting visit.
ReplyDeleteThere’s something about old churches put to other uses isn’t there.

Thanks for sharing a snippet of interesting history đź‘Ť
ReplyDeleteYou’re welcome Matt.
DeleteReally interesting article, you'd have thought that with a government ordained by God and intent on doing his work that they'd have built more churches or at least chapels!

I suppose in their defence, it wasn’t a long period (8 years) and the economy must have taken a big hit with the wars.
DeleteI’ve been listening to an interesting podcast on the Rest is History about Cromwell’s Protectorate. I don’t know much about him, but it seems that he wasn’t such a party pooper after all (in England).
