Ruminations on wargaming, especially the Seven Years War, the English Civil War and other 'black powder' periods. Occasional forays into obscure Nordic music and opinionated 'dribble' [sic] on Grimsby Town Football Club.
Oddly enough I find the hobby helps me not through unburdening or social interactions but in the focus required while painting miniatures. Good on them for doing this anyhow. Any antidote to the atomisation of society should be welcomed.
Good to see our hobby being painted in a positive light for once. There is the 'Models for Heroes' stand that I see at Partizan, which is always good to see. I find our hobby a wonderful break from the day-to-day realities and pressures of being a parent carer 24/7.
I saw this earlier today on the Society of Ancients’ forum. I reckon we all knew the answer to this study. They should have asked one of us!
ReplyDeleteWhat was the study Jon? I think it might have been a different article to the one about Spalding Wargames Club.

ReplyDeleteI find the same Mark. I also read another article about veterans finding model making helpful with PTSD.
