My how Britain has declined in recent years
Even the new James Bond is looking a bit, erm, worn.
Lol. 007 looks like an American president! Of course, the U.K. has been in decline since Feb 1988.....that's when I left for New Zealand, in case you hadn't guessed π
She looks OK to me. The chap next to her identifies as a bald man with a cat. Eddie Izzard will play Miss Moneypenny. The Aston Martin is now in the Museum of White Privilege: Jemima Bond will use an electric scooter (when the wind is blowing enough to charge it).
(1) Izzard is not standing in any all-women shortlist. (2) there are rather more important things on the agenda than non-issues which Gbeebies (aka GB News) seeks to use as a distraction. Chris
Well I think maybe 'Bond' should reflect our ageing society.. . I like to think about possible alternatives to play 007 - so far my favourites would be Johnny Vegas or Jarvis Cocker.. With Jo Brand as 'M', of course ( 'oh, don't be a complete c**k, Bond' ). I should point out that I have not actually watched a Bond movie since the incumbent was Roger Moore, so I'm clearly not the target demographic..
Good call ( I had to look up the In Betweeners, though!). Eddie Izzard as Moneypenny is a great idea, and added to my list, even though the gentleman above probably didn't mean it so charitably.. I even suspect Eddie has done a routine about wanting to be James Bond too! I saw Eddie Izzard several times quite early on - the best comedian I've ever seen, I think. I remember the West End run, maybe early/mid 1990s, when he ( as she was then ) first wore a dress on stage - it did seem odd for the first few minutes, but then one just forgot about it as the act went on - not really a big deal, where's the harm? But I do remember thinking 'honestly Eddie, you haven't really got the legs for it' :)

When the leader of the opposition can’t rule out a bloke in a dress standing in an all-women shortlist, we have reached the bottom.

Cheerio. Have a good life.
DeleteLooks like he’d sooner forget the vodka martini and have a nice cup of cocoa and a bit of a sit down. Lol.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good plan to me. Don’t forget the Hobnobs!

Johnny Vegas: good call. π
ReplyDeleteFor Bond girl can I nominate ‘Kitty’ who Neil spent the night with in the Inbetweeners Movie?
